Campus Security

At St. Louis Christian College, the safety and well-being of our students, guests, faculty, and staff are always a priority. However, a truly safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation of everyone. This information is a part of our effort to ensure that this collaborative endeavor is effective. We hope that you will read it carefully and use the information to help foster a safe environment for yourself and the campus.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the office of Campus Security to complement and support the advancement of the educational purposes of the College by providing a safe and secure environment for learning, working, and personal development.

When Campus security is notified of criminal activity, request for assistance, or any type of emergency situation, members of the security team respond without delay. Requests for information and assistance are promptly fulfilled. Campus Security can be reached between the hours of 6pm and 7am daily.

The Campus Security Department consists of student workers who work with the assistance of the Florissant Police and Fire departments. All criminal activity is reported directly to these outside agencies.

Philosophy

It is the philosophy of the campus safety service department that we would much rather prevent crimes from occurring than react to them after the fact. A primary vehicle for accomplishing this goal is safety awareness and crime prevention. Information about the Campus Security and personal safety and security issues are distributed at various locations throughout the campus.

Safety Patrols

Parking lots, buildings, and campus areas are actively patrolled by Campus Security Officers. Emphasis is placed on the evening hours, when the need for higher visibility is necessary.

New Student Orientation

A Campus Security presentation accompanied by related printed material is made available to new students during orientation. Crime prevention material is also made available to all community members throughout the year.

Reporting Criminal Activity / Emergencies

When a life-threatening situation arises, dial 9-911 from any campus telephone for outside police or emergency medical assistance. Notify Campus Security (314) 303-6208 as soon as possible so that immediate action can be taken to remedy the situation. All crimes on campus will be referred to civil authorities.

Members of the SLCC community are urged to always report criminal activities or other emergencies on campus. The Campus Security Department wants to assist in helping you to protect yourself and your property. Campus Security can be reached by cell phone at (314) 303-6208 or by dialing extension 1206 from any campus phone.
