Profile:Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree from SLCC in 1995 and then went into full-time ministry. He served at the Christian Church of Witt (IL) and then the Chambersburg Christian Church (IL) before coming back to join the SLCC faculty and staff in 2002. While in ministry, he received his Master of Divinity degree from Lincoln Christian Seminary in 2000. Scott’s wife, Lisa, also works for SLCC. They have been married 22 years and have two children, Amanda and Michael.
Scott is a self confessed sports junky who spends too much time watching ESPN. He played both baseball and basketball at Hazelwood West High School (St. Louis) and is a diehard St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
The 07-08 season will mark Scott’s sixth year as the Head Coach of the Soldiers. His teams have become known for their solid defensive efforts. Last year’s squad set a new school record for scoring defense by stingingly holding their opponents to a mere 68.3 points p/game.
The Soldiers are coming off back to back 20 win seasons. Womble led the Soldiers to their first ever NCCAA Div II National Tournament appearance in 05-06 and was named Central Region Coach of the Year.
