Profile: I love running; it began 40 years ago when my 6th grade P. E. coach challenged our class to run during our lunch hour. Since then, I’ve competed in nearly every distance from the 100 meters to the full 26.2 marathon. I love the running analogy of the Bible; it has shaped my Christian life since I came to Christ at the age of 15—“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one received the prize? So run that you may obtain it” (I Cor. 9:24, ESV). I love coaching; it has been a joy and a privilege to watch our team not only improve over the course of the season but also to see their own love for the sport grow and develop.
